New TV first rarely, to not at all receiving X1G-P signal

Just moved into a new residence and purchased a Vizio M55-D0. My X1G-P box worked the first day seemingly fine, but the 5 days since then it has went from taking minutes to change from a black screen to actual audio and video, to not being picked up at all. Fairly certain it is the box, or slightly possibly a setting on the tv as I've also an XBox One hooked up and it works fine. I've tried all different HDMI ports and 3 different cables and they all work with the Xbox but not the X1. I've also done power cycling and rebooting with the tv and X1. Running out of ideas on basic solutions.

Does anybody have any other solutions or tips for me?

Comcast is telling me my "cloud" has an extra 500 GB of space. Is this true?

I have an X1 box and I use the cloud service on the xfinity tv app (at least I think that's "the cloud"). But when I record something on my box, it records to the app and when I delete the show from my box, it deletes on the app. So, since the box and app are basically the same, I dont get any extra space on the cloud so to speak.

This is the hypothetical example I gave 2 Comcast reps.

Lets say I wiped both the X1 box clean and also the cloud. So, I'm at 0% for both. Then, I go and record a bunch of shows to take them both to 100%. The Comcast reps are telling me that I can then delete every show off my box, taking it back down to 0% but those recordings will still be saved on the app/cloud. So, in theory, I would have a 100% full cloud but 0% full box so I can record a ton more shows on.

Am I doing something wrong because I am not able to do this primarily because when I delete something off my box, it also deletes off the app/cloud. Is there a way for that not to happen.

Installation of Ground Break with MoCA Filter

I was having problems with rain causing my cable (X1) and Internet service to go out. The Internet didn't stay down too long but sometimes the cable wouldn't come back up until a tech came out and looked at it. I live in an apartment so I don't have control over the wiring but Comcast does it for the complex.

The first tech out restarted my cable and said he would put a call in to have a wiring specialist come out as the box outside was a mess as well as the cause of the outages. Also, the wiring is RG59 and he said it needed to be replaced with RG6 as the X1 system is sensitive. I have wanted to put a box in my secondary bedroom which is on the other side of the wall from the drop in use in my living room for the X1 and my Ethernet modem. The drop in the bedroom was disconnected a couple decades ago by a Comcast tech and the wire connected to it pushed through a hole in the wall she made to make the drop.

If they were going to rewire I asked about reconnecting the bedroom drop (splitter and a couple of short wires needed) and was told they could do it.

I never received the expected call from Comcast to schedule the wiring specialist. I called the next week and opened a call but never received a call back to schedule the wiring specialist but the rain did cause my service to go out again. They finally told me another regular tech would have to come out and re-verify the problem to schedule the wiring specialist. After a couple of days he arrived and agreed with the previous solution and said all the same things. After he left I received the expected call and the wiring specialist was scheduled.

He arrived and agreed with the previous guys. He said he couldn't rewire the apartment as he would have to make holes in the walls to pull the cable but said it would have to done in the future if the apartment complex ever went to fiber.

He went outside and said the box was a mess but he took me off a splitter and connected me directly to clean up the rain problem. He replaced some connections on the other live drop in the living room which is unused but where the trunk from outside comes in and a splitter provides a connection for the wire that used to go to the bedroom but is now used in the living room (opposite wall from the first living room drop).

I asked about the drop in the bedroom which he opened up and said he was taking care of everything. That afternoon after he had left in the morning, I checked and found the bedroom was never reconnected and a new device in the line coming from wall that goes to the splitter connected to the X1 and Ethernet modem.

Turns out the device is a ground break with a MoCA filter in it. It is PPC part number POEGB-1GCW. My understanding is that this is a two-way filter to provide privacy to the neighbors so they can't see what I am watching and visa-versa.

To me this should be on the outside or on the main trunk line coming into the apartment instead of on the line from the wall. If I got a second box, how could my current X1 box talk to it?

If he couldn't wire the bedroom or if there was cost I wish he had told me instead of misleading me.

Thanks for any help on this.

Here is a picture of what he left me.

Auto Extend Not Working For Every Football Game

Having some issues with auto extend, it still is not reliable for us. For example, we recorded the Florida State / Ole Miss game on ESPNU channel 396 that aired at 12:00 am on 9/5 and it did not auto extend so we missed the end of the game. Can someone tell me how why this isn't working for us and get the ball rolling on fixing the issue? Thanks.

New X1 box issues and questions

I am not even sure where to begin...I kept getting an alert on my screen that I would need to upgrade my cable box in order to keep my HD services, ok I order the new box off the TV, it gets to my house and it is now telling me that I need a wireless gateway also.  Why didn't Comcast send this in the box if I was going to need a new modem?  They know what equipment I have and what I will need with the upgrade. Or why aren't they putting up alerts on my internet evey 15 minutes like they did with my cable box?  I hooked the new box up to my HD TV because I thought the modem I had was up to date I just got it last year, it is an Arris TG862G.  The TV comes on with the TV remote but keeps saying no signal.  The cable box is powered up but is not sending a signal.  I see the light on the remote so I know that has power it is just not connecting somewhere.  ALSO it gave me a new coaxial cable, my cable line is ran up the floor and into the house, am I not able to use the cable line I already have running into the house?  I am trying to get answers so that tomorrow I can go to Comcast and either get a new modem or hand them back the X1 box because at this point I was happy with my HD box I had, looking at a blue screen telling me no signal, well not so much.

Strange events following lightning storm

1 X1 DVR and 2 child boxes in my house.  The DVR and one child box output throug HDMI, the 2nd child box through coax.  Lightning storm monday night, on Tuesday the 2 boxes outputting through HDMI are acting strangely.  The primary DVR will not output any signal at all through HDMI port, and the child box will output a signal but it is very crackly, with frequent intermittant signal interruptions for only a portion of the screen and audio.   I moved the 2nd child box to the location of the 1st box and everything in that location works fine.  Is it possible that some sort of storm related damage knocked out the HDMI output on the 2 cable boxes using them while leaving the rest of the primary DVR functionality intact?

2nd question: following the storm I was not able to output HDMI from the last working child box or from a blu ray player to my projector (both of which worked on the other TV).  I was, however, able to output a signal from my PC and have it display on the projector.  This seems very strange as I would not expect the projector to work if its HDMI input was also fried.  Any suggestions?

I am trying to set up parental controls on the home television and laptop.  I can find how to do this, but not how to make it user specific.  When I hit users it just shows me the users on our account with email addresses, etc.  Can we set this up?  I want to limit what my 13 year old watches, without limiting the entire crew!  Any help is most appreciated.

Please improve sports team handling, currently a joke!

Please do this. I am getting so tired of the way sports teams are recorded. Why can't we set up season recordings that have these things:

Record current season games only  - I don't care about all the other interview shows and classic replays and whatnot. I just want the games!

Set extra time at the end of all games - auto extend is infuriatingly unreliable!

Currently it requires so much micromanagement and curation to remove the recordings from our queue that we don't want and to make sure each future game gets recorded with enough time at the end to capture any possible overtime. DirecTV handles this stuff so much better and it was glorious when we had it. I had really hoped last season that Comcast would have this fixed by now when we first discovered these issues as new customers. The way it looks now, we are going back when our contract is up.
