X1 HDMI and Computer
Recently, I obtained an X1 cable box. I happened to notice two HDMI ports on said cable box. One port was labled "In" whilst the other was labled "Out to TV." I am wondering if it is possible to use an HDMI cable to hook up my laptop to the TV using either HDMI ports since my television does not have an HDMI plug. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

New X1 box with older HD TV
Voice Remote customize skip MORE than 30 seconds and less than 5 minutes?
Are the new voice remotes for X1 DVR's customizable? Can I re-purpose the "C" button which I will never use?
I need a skip ahead longer than 30 seconds because commercials are mostly three and a half minutes. On the older remotes with DVR boxes not on X1 you could program a 30 second skip and then make a macro button to automatically do the 30 second skip seven times to get a three and a half minute skip by pressing ONE button. How can this be done for the new voice remotes that came with my X1 DVR?
I have tried the EXIT, EXIT, EXIT, 0330 and it does not work. A 30 second skip requires pressing seven times and that can cause playback problems if you don't press perfectly. It won't retain seven presses so you have to do it slowly.
If I skip forward FIVE MINUTES, then you have to press the 15 second REPLAY six more times to go back a minute and a half. TOO many button presses and time wasting. I may have to buy a TIVO, but the commercial skip on TIVO only works for 20 stations and I cannot use Hopper where I live. Thanks if anyone has any solutions!

2 X1 DVR Boxes
We upgraded to the X1 service since Comcast said it was the best thing they had. 1 DVR box and 5 DVR receivers and we are not able to watch another channel if something is recording. So i was told that we could have 2 DVR boxes and it would give us 1TB of data and 12 slots so we should be able to record multiple shows and watch a different channel. The only thing is that we are on our second DVR Box after swapping it out and still won't receive a signal. Is it possible to have 2 X1 DVR Boxes activated at the same time?
I've tried plugging the nex box in where the other DVR Box was and it started to work but then when we tried it in a different room with the second box it didn't get the signal. We changed the main box thinking that would make a difference and still the same issue. Error code RDK-03036 is what it shows
X1connection to Tivo
I am trying to connect an X1 and Series 2 Tivo. I don't subscribe to HD service. I believe I connected the cables correctly (wall to x1, x1 to Tivo, Tivo to tv). The Tivo wants to access through channel 4 and the X1 through channel 3. Any help out there?
X1 Change Over
Comcast sent me a letter informing me my equipment was old and had to be replaced or I would not receive HD after Oct. 26th. They gave me several options to do this. I opted to go to the local store myself, after all how hard is it to disconnect 3 boxes and reconnect 3 new ones? It is very simple to disconnect and reconnect. BUT the 'master' X1 box would not connect. 45 minutes on the phone with comcast. Their solution was to SEND A TECH OUT. They promised a tech that day within an hour (which I did not believe). teo hours later and no tech I returned the brand new X1 box to the comcast store for replacement. Returned home, connected it, and just as advertised it worked. I set up the remote, very easy, then moved to set up the 2 bedroom units. Easy Peasy! All 3 TV's working. 3 hours later the main box freezes up and reboots itself. 45 minutes later the main box freezes but comes back after 5 minutes or so. This morning all 3 tv's working......then boom. the 2 bedroom boxes freeze. Unplug and reboot the 2 boxes...no change. On the chat line I go. Same old dance from that guy. Send a few refresh signals then tells me it's time to SEND A TECH. I closed the chat window as I was fed up with the one and only response comcast help desk ever provides. On a hunch I reset the 'master' box. Wonder of wonders it fixed the problems with the 2 'slave' sets. All is good.............until tonight. Bedroom tv's freeze, main tv freezes, reset the main tv...nothing happens. On the phone I go tothe comcast help desk. Well, you guessed it. They sent multiple refresh signals.. no bueno. Then the help desk guy does something others have not. He went to the Level 2 X1 Support Team. His answer was remarkable. It seems these problems are known to comcast when customers change over from 'legacy' to 'X1' systems. But there is a fix! Comcast can SEND A TECH OUT IN 5 DAYS! And to rub salt in the open sore these guys have opened up when I asked about going back to the store and getting Non-X1 Equipment I was told No Way can you go back. SO comcast tells me to upgrade my old equipment but DOES NOT TELL ME IT MAY NOT WORK then tells me They Are Sorry but rest assured in 5 days or whenever a tech shows up it will be fixed. This is the most disgusting provider of communication services in the free world. And having been a customer for 12 years now I guess this makes me one of the STUPIDIEST consumers in the free world. Thanks for NOTHING comcast. By the way. The only thing your preciouse X1 system does that I could not do before is it allows me to talk to the remote control.
Will scheduled SD recording overwrite existing HD recording?
Am nearing the end of recording 6 entire seasons of Downton Abbey on PBS. So that it all fits on our DVR, I've been recording all episodes in SD (channel 6). I started recording all of this on Friday evening, 9/2. All 9 episodes of season 6 are already on my DVR, recorded in HD (channel 658) in late 2015. My question is ... when S6 Ep1 begins to record in SD later this morning, will it overwrite the pre-existing S6 Ep1 that was recorded in HD, or ... will I end up with an SD and an HD version of S6 Ep1? Am hoping I end up with both versions. Thanks.

Samsung RNG150N no signal from hdmi
Trying to figure out what my next step should be.
A few weeks ago I noticed my bill seemed to be slightly higher than normal. I took a look and noticed there was an additional equipment charge for several months. The package I have includes the DVR plus additional 2-3 boxes. The HD Tech fee is also included in the package(so I'm told). I have Samsung DVR along with 2 of the small square HD boxes plus this RNG150N. So I called to have the charge removed and was put on hold for 20 mins. Finally told they found the code to remove the charge and it was done.
I've been out of town the last week or so and walked in last night, turned the RNG150N on and no signal was displayed. I call and start a chat and they've reset my box 100 times since then. They've asked me to verify the inputs 100 times as well. I went ahead and took a look at my bill again during all this and noticed the additional equipment fee was still there but the bill was a little lower. My first thought was they removed the HD tech fee and that was the reason. I was told the tech fee was part of the package and they were going to remove the additional equipment charges going forward.
I was then sent back to support to go through the reset process again. Finally they want me to swap the box.
To troubleshoot I've taken one of my other cable boxes and swapped into this room and it works. I've swapped the hdmi from my blu ray using the same port and the opposite. I've run the RNG box to another port, etc. The RNG does output sound through the coaxial and optical ports so I can hear the channels playing through the box just seems the HDMI port is dead. None of the other 3 boxes have other output options so I was wondering if this hd tech fee only applies to the port on the RNG since the other 3 are still working correctly. The support folks just keep saying the refresh signals have been sent and that the hd is turned on and they see the HD as active for the account and box.
Just getting frustrated as I know the local equipment shop is going to tell me they don't have any inventory. Is there another number I can call to get more than just the scripted "unplug your box and wait 30 seconds" routine??
