X1 Factory reset

My X1 was working fine except that our second x1 box would freeze from time to time.  My wife called to let Comcast know of the issue and the lady she got said the problem was our main DVR was not activated and this is why the second box was freezing.  My wife told her our DVR works just perfect and it has been activated for months.  The tech did not listen and did something which completely stopped our main X1 DVR from working.  Now when it boots it gets to an error screen that says "This device needs to be activated before we can continue". XRE-00250. Strangley enough the master bedrroom box is still working.  I have spoke with 3 different tech via phone, 1 tech via chat, and the billing department and no one can fix the issue.  They want to send a tech to our house.  How is it that it can get messed up via phone but cannot be fixed as such.  I would really just like to get the box back to a factory reset so I can go through the activation process, I believe that will fix the issue.  For some reason that is a big secret, but I see it gets PM'd here all the time.  Please if you can help please PM these instructions so I can enjoy my X1.

Problems with picture and sound

We have been Comcast customers for 30 years. Yesterday a very nice technician switched out our old set top DVR for the X-1 Platform. The technician spent a long time installing it and making sure the signal strength was adequate, etc. He left around 6 p.m. and within the first 10 minutes of turning on the local news, the picture and the sound began to break up. I unplugged the box and rebooted it several times and each time it would work for a few minutes and then break up again. This morning I left it unplugged longer. It worked for awhile, but then the problem recurred.

This is ridiculous and extremely frustrating.

PLEASE HELP!

UHD Broadcasting and Xfinity uhd box to receive it.

Is there any news on the release date for the UHD cable box from Comcast?  It didn't make it by December 2015 as announced.

Continual slow response between TV remote & TV response. Also Repeated times where a channel isn't avaiable, "try later" message

Am experiencing continual slow response when trying to change channels. Also, the response time when trying to view the "guide" option is extremely slow as well. Getting error messages quite ofton "sorry, unable to access channel at this time". (The 324-328 channels for exampl, won't open at all) Have reset the X1 box several times.

I just turned it on and the voice command options seem very limited.

I have been looking into getting Comcast business for my home office while keeping our cable and phone service through Comcast residential. The rep that I have been talking with wants to know if I have X1, which I believe I do, although it does not tell me on my bill. He said that he tried to get Comcast residential to tell him if my X1 service will work with the business internet. 

So, I've been doing a bit of research and now I'm curious. From what I can tell, my X1 box pulls internet from Comcast through the cable. Does this internet it's pulling go toward my 300G alloted monthly? Or does it pull it independently from my home internet. 

Does anyone out there know if I can use business internet with my home TV/phone combo? I find it sad that I have to ask on here, rather than the salesman!

X1 Menus - Design Choices

Very shortly after running thru the menus and remote commands on my new X1 set top boxes & the XR11 remote I can perceive a perplexing design philosophy that Comcast seems to have adopted. Wherever in the experience, whatever the function needed, the choice has been made to add at least one graphic before or after executing the requested function, and whenever possible to require one or more additional button presses to delay the completion of the function. At all times they seem to insist on one or more grey screens obscuring content. On the DTA w/XR2 remote if you hit the "Channel UP" button once, it will instantly display that new channel full screen, nothing obscured, no additional button press needed. On X1 . . . Well, do I really need to describe the multiple button presses and obscuring graphics to be endured for the much delayed result? And on XR2, of course, a single "Last" button press presents instantly the last tuned channel without obsc. grx, confirm button presses, or delays. Or, on XR2, key in channel 802 (CBSHD) - 3 button presses, 802 picture appears instantly, no obscuring graphics and no confirming button presses. On X1 . . . Well, the huge obscuring grey pgm info, the unneeded "OK" button press, the obscuring full screen channel ID, and the subsequent L/3 info bar obscuring what you've just been teased with a glimpse of say to me these folks might be trying to hide an inherent switching delay with all this burdensome graphics and razzle dazzle. I wish there could be a simple, "Direct Mode" setting for operating the X1 platform that centered on the thought that the user just might actually know what channel she wanted to watch without superfluous button presses and grey info obscurings, and also knew where to go to get program info when she wanted it. The normal "Enhanced Mode" could then be the default with it's multiple button presses, obscuring info screens, and functional delay. If I could find an outboard, HDMI-in, HDMI-out DVR box for simple, pause, instant replay, and maybe single pgm record, I'd have no X1 set top boxes except the aforementioned "Direct Access" DTA boxes.

How can I flip between two channels with one button press, like the old interface?  I flip between only two channels quite often.  Maybe there's a little remote control programming code of some sort?

Two days ago the audio went out on just two of my channels - channel 8 ABC and 9 WCTX. ALL other channels have normal sound.  I have checked every possible setting on my TV remote and Xfinity remote. Just no explanation. I've reset the DVR twice on two different days, nothing. Anyone else have this problem ? Know how to fix it or do I need to contact Comcast ?
