Audio Dropout

I just got xfinity tv a few weeks ago and ever since the main tv in the living room has the audio periodically cut out for 1-2 seconds every few minutes. I don't think it is an internet/streaming issue because if you rewind it, the audio is there and it will play. I also noticed that i am only having this problem on the main tv where it the main X1 box is and we have an LG Sound Bar - which we do not have on our other tvs. If i had to guess it seems like an issue with the x1 interacting with the sound bar.

 

I've got the sound bar connected and its controlled through the xfinity remote and it works totally find except for these intermittent audio drops. I've already went through the troubleshooting "reset" your tv box and that hasn't seemed to help. Any advice???

XG1v4 Jumping to 4k Resolution

Starting last night, my box keeps going to 4k resolution. I have a 4k TV, but use an HDMI Extender that does not. As a result, it keeps knocking my picture out.

If it is not on 1080p in device settings on the box then my picture is gone.

Why is the box suddenly changing my video settings in the box?

Never had this issue for 2 years with this box.

We experience frequent  drops of both audio and video on our tv. Nearly always happens  between 4:30 and 6 in the evening. No impact on  internet. TV and equipment less than 2 yrs old

I have a similar question.  I am looking into a mesh system.  All I have right now is Xfi Gateway with X1 box.  If I enable bridge mode on my xfi gateway and install a mesh network, will my X1 box still work with Youtube, Hulu, etc.

X1 Stuck on Blue Screen

My X1 box is stuck on a blue screen saying “Preparing your box for new software...”

I have no status bar but there are DOCSIS status for various things all saying DONE or OK except Registration in Progress has no status. Every time I reboot the box it gets stuck here.
Call Xfinity not one helps should receive a phone call from technical but nothing

How do I get X1 to store my Netflix login?

Every time I access the Netflix app from my X1 box, I am being prompted to enter my Netflix user ID and password. It is not even remembering my user ID even though the box is checked. We recently moved and I transferred my service.  I never had this issue before we moved. I entered my Netflix credentials once, and the X1 stored the information. I'm not sure why this is now happening, but I can tell you it's really annoying.

We have Netflix through our Xfinity account.  I have set up three different Netflix profiles for parents, a teen and a 12-year-old.  But to get to the Netflix profile signin page, Xfinity is asking for my parental control pin which of course would be useless if I gave it to the kids.  How do I bypass this problem???

After a System Refresh the Low Signal appears on the screen?

I'm trying to get better picture quality on the nex cable box that was installed yesterday.  I called yesterday when the problem started yesterday after the technician left yesterday.  The person that I talked to tried to fix the problem but couldn't the said he had sent a message to he department that could fix the problem.  Said they would call me back that never happened.  I called this morning and whoever I talked to tried to fix the porblem and then said someone from the other department would call me back in approx 40 minutes no one called me back after 1 1/2 hous.  I tried to call again and was put on ho.d for more thatn 1 hour and no answer.  So my question is when will have my good picture quality restored?

I have a new install. X1 DVR working fine but other 2 set top boxes giving RDK-03036 error code. Tried reseting main box and still not working. How do I correct this issue?

Recording Programs only in English

We are new (about 4 months) subscribers to xfinity. We have recorded a couple hundred programs to date with no problem. We recorded the inaugural segment of "yellowstone"  this past weekend. We have 5 TV's - 3 smart tv's and 2 otherwise (older and non-smart!). On all the smart TV's the program recorded in Spanish; on the other 2 it recorded in English. Anybody have an explanation for how this may have happened and how it can be avoided in the future?

HDMI to DVI adapter

I have an old HDTV that does not have an HDMI port. It does have a DVI port. I have been connecting to the Xfinity X1 cable box by using the HDMI out port  and going through the adapter to connect to the DVI port on my HDTV. to get the audio I connected to the componet audio on the X1 box. this has worked for more than 3 years with a great picture and no problems.

then about 2 weeks ago, the something happened. The picture was still great, but about every 10 seconf the screen flashes white for a second and the picture returns. The remote has sporadic communication.

Of course, spent a lot of time with tech help to no avail. they suggested I exchange cable box. I did

but no change. I now have my TV connnected using componet cables ( the only option if you don't have HDMI). Everything works except you cannot select display resolution through the help, Device settings, just get a blank screen.

so my quesion is does Comcast no longer support the use of an HDMI to DVI adapter?

Software Update Auto Selects Best Available Resolution

FYI. My other thread on this was locked for some reason with no resolution.  However, this week they updated the boxes to automatically select the best video resolution setting available.

 

This is an issue if your box thinks your TV is 4k and it is not for example. Advanced repair contacted me and there is now a setting in General Settings to lock the resolution.  

 

They had many calls on it. It was causing my picture to blank out everytime turned the TV off and on.

 

If you prefer a certain resolution then you should turn this to on. 

7 X1 devices in my house - 3XG2 and 4 XiD - XiD boxes freeze with RDK-03053

Before upgrading my service, I had 1 XG2, 3 XiD and 3 cablecards.

I decided to exchange 2 cablecards for 3 more XiD boxes. Once I activated all the boxes, I received RDK-10000 error on 1 of the new XiDs, and RDK-03046 on the other 2.

I called xfinity and they recommended I replace 2 XiDs with 2 XG2s. Rationale was the box receiving the RDK-10000 was “in front of the amp” because for some reason many years ago, Comcast split the wire outside my house and ran 3 wires into the house - 1 to the amp in the attic, 1 to a TV in the basement, and 1 to where the cable modem sits. The other XG2 was because I didn’t have enough tuners to drive all the XiDs.

So, I now have 3 XG2s and 4 XiDs, and all 4 XiDs are frozen with error RDF-03053.

I’ve done some troubleshooting and found that if I unplug the XG2 in front of the amp, all the remaining boxes work. If I unplug either of the other 2 XG2s, 1 of the XiDs gets RDK-03046 (not enough tuners).

I just spent an hour on the phone with Comcast Tech Support and their answer was that XG2 and XiD boxes are incompatible... Huh???

So is the problem that 1) I can’t actually have 3 XG2s in the house, 2) I can’t have an XG2 in front of the amp, 3) the box is bad or 4) there is a config error.

Any thoughts?
