How do i know which programs are set to record on which DVR?
Yesterday we had 6 programs recording at one time and a got a message when i tried to watch a 7th show that was not recording.
I thought we could record 12 programs at one time? How can I prevent this from happening?

X1 4K DVR box used with non 4K TV - comments
Hello:
I have an 4.5 yr old X1 DVR box. The issue I have is the companion Xi3(?) box in the house has the new NPR ONE app while the main X1 box/TV doesn’t show the app. After 1.5 hrs, the advanced tech support person stated my old X1 box will no longer accept firmware updates - true or not?
So after that, and a failed technician visit, it was recommended to get the latest X1 4K box - that setup box has the latest firmware. That was due to the technician stating he couldn’t guarantee that swapping out the old box with the same X1 model would solve the problem.
I asked about downward compatibility; my TV & DVD player are not 4K compatible. The Comcast employees stated there would be no issue.
However, I’ve read varying commentary as to wether the picture quality does become degraded, stays the same, better, etc. with this setup combination.
Can anyone offer any insight or advice?
BTW - the box is on order, but if it’s going to result in a poorer quality picture I won’t bother with it. I’ll live with not having the NPR app on my main system/TV.

XRE-00294
I have just recieved a new x1 set top box, model MX011ANM, and it is having trouble while seting up. After choosing the language, it says “verifying your information” and then gives me an error: “lets try that again” “sorry, were having some trouble.” The error code is XRE-00294. I have tried restarting the set top box multiple times and it has not worked. All cable connections are secure. Also, the xfinity app shows the set top box as connected.

Hello, my x1 cable box keeps turning off and rebooting. It started doing this once a show, and now it is just in an endles cycle - so my tv's are useless. I just noticed a forum dated back to 2015, and I'm wondering why 2.5 - 3 years later the problem still exist and what can be done about it. Being fairly new to xfinity, I am not happy right now.

I have 2 4k TV's and want to watch in 4K. Do they have 4k boxes without the DVR. I heard if you pay 9.95 for a regular box in order to have 4k it will cost and additional 10.00 to 19.95 a month just for the box?!?!

I would like x1 to give some type of audible alert prior to turning off the box in power saver mode. I am not always "watching" the tv but listening.

X1 self-install advice
Hi all!
For years I've had only Internet through Comcast (no splitter for TV)
I've recently upgraded my service to add the X1 DVR and several of the smaller non-DVR's.
Right now, with Internet only, the main cable line comes up out of the ground and goes into a filter of some kind (about 2" long - says "347" on it and "filter required for multi-room"), after which there's about 75ft of coax going along the house outside and then in through the 2nd story wall into the room with the cable modem.
Because I already had internet (my own modem) I never received the wifi/wireless kit which comes with a splitter, so I'll need to get one from the local Comcast office.
What should I do with the "347" filter? Take it off and just add the splitter? Maybe put it BEFORE the splitter? After it on the Internet side?
I'm sure the thing was added to get my levels right for an "Internet only" wiring setup, so now I'm not sure exactly what to do to make sure the levels for both TV and Internet are good (and does the X1 handle all the MOCA stuff itself or is there some kind of MOCA device/booster/filter that needs to be in the line somewhere?)
If all else fails I'll have to pay for a tech to come out to do the install and check the levels, but I thought I'd check with everyone here in case there's a chance I can avoid the extra $$ for the service.

Audio intermittent x1 DVR since firmware 85.1.1
We seem to have an issue with the audio being very intermittent over HDMI connected to a Marantz reciever on some channels (some channels don’t even have audio anymore some never drop out). Everything was fine but it appears to now be happening after the firmware was updated to 85.1.1 2 weeks ago. Discovery channel, ABC, CBS, etc are all intermittent. Sometimes they are fine... sometimes the audio will fade out. DVR playback sometimes works but often fades out. A tech was out a few days ago and tried swapping the box but that did not fix the issue. We know the receiver is fine when other HDMI sources play through it (Apple TV, DVD, Computer). Did something in the audio Codec change with this firmware push? Or is it an issue with the transmission in the souther NH area?

Creepy baby on frozen dvr
Has anyone else had their dvr box lock up on a blue screen and then have a creepy baby appear? This picture was stuck.. I had to reboot 3 times before it went away and service was restored
