Can I just walk in to a comcast store/office and exchange my non dvr boxes (RNG's) for the XG1's?
If so, after I take them home, do I have to do anything special beyond just hooking them up?
Is there a cost difference between these two types of non dvr boxes?
Are there drawbacks to the XG1 vs the RNG?

When I push fast forward once, the show will skip ahead 10 min., 30 min., sometimes to the end of the show and I have to start it all over again.
I've had the box for 3 1/2 months, and it's been happening the whole time. Comcast seems confused when I explain it to them. They reset from their end, but never called back to verify if it worked, and it didn't. I see a lot of other posts like this. What's going on? Getting really tired of this.
HDMI dropout causes loss of TV picture & sound. I have a 2015 Samsung JS9000 55" ultra 4k TV. Is there an upgraded cable that would prevent this. I am now experiencing the need to change HDMI ports to reconnect my TV.
DVD available space dropped dramatically Wednesday night. Seems to coincide with a change to the system as the screen looks different when fast forwarding/rewinding. How can we get our space back?

I know this is an old topic, but the problem still exists in late 2016. I want the option to removethe progress bar completely! This includes the black Play/Pause overlay and the info bar after changing channels. I know I can hit the Exit button, but I don't want to see the annoying bar while I'm trying to find the correct frame to pause. It is usually hiding the precise thing I'm trying to see while advancing the frame.
Also, if the Exit button is hit twice or held for a split second too long, it advances the DVR to Live. This is not a problem, just pointing it out to people who are complaining about it going to Live unexpectedly.
Question... I am a Comcast suscriber with the X1 platform, one DVR and two additional boxes. (The system is excellent! First time this kind of thing lives up to the hype) I also have a vacation property outside of the Comcast service area. I don't have any cable at the vacartion property, but I do have internet service. Yes, I can watch X1 on my compter, I'm doing that right now. But can I purchase or rent a device to access X1 over the internet directly on to a TV? I though that Apple TV might have X1, but alas, no. What are my options? Thanks for your help!
As of an hour ago, I get a message on the TV screen (I have Xfinity X1 boxes) that I have a subscription to ABC TV but I have to add it to my lineup online at xfinity.com. But I an unable to connect to my lineup. What's up????
I have the voice remote. Everything works fine except the mute button. Any ideas? The tv is JVC.
I am not happy about Comcast removing the fast forward option on some shows recorded on the DVR. I pay more than enough money each month and should be able to fast forward on recorded shows. This is encroachment and will be a deal breaker for me unless Comcast changes this policy.
Satellite set top box stuck trying to do software update. Indicator light continues to flash. Screen says there is no software to execute. Tried unplugging for five minutes and plugged in again. No change?
Local channel (WTAE) Channel 3 on my line-up is missing as well as 803 the HD channel. These are the ABC network channels
EVERY channel change goes to a black screen of useless info and NOT directly to the changed channel!!! This is a drastic slowdown of the x1 platform. At least give users a preference of the old way of channel changes or this stinking new x1 s l o w way of changing channels!!!
I am getting error XRE-03010 with a red screen when I turn on my main box associated with X1 service.
I have gotten the error about 6 times in the last week. Cycling the power on the box resolves the issue but it just comes back.
The problem seems to occur when I first turn the TV on in the morning. When I turn it on after just watching it I don't see the issue.
While this error was displayed on the TV associated with the main box, I checked service on another TV and it had no error.
What happend to ABC Programming after nightly service reset?
I have a small tv in my kitchen and I would like for it to 'mirror' a tv we have in the living room. There is cable wire there but it is not 'active' and we have no box for it (the kitchen tv). I just want to make it like a 'slave monitor'. I understand that I can no longer split the cable from the basement as the 'cable' programming now comes from the box. So is there a way that I can make this work (that isn't TOOOO difficult)?

I have my favorite channel lineup set up. I have double checked every channel to make sure it is in my favorites. But when I have them listed and am curious as to what might be on another channel that is listed as a favorite, I get a message that it isn't included and I need to switch to all channels to find it. Anyone got a solution?
